60 things to do if you’re sad | Tips

September 4, 2017 – Journal

“I’ve never met a strong person with an easy past.” – Atticus

Frustrating times come as they go; some longer than others. I get it. Sometimes we are just feeling low and insecure – other times, things beyond our control just suddenly happen. And as much as we would like to think positively, it doesn’t work.

I’m here to let you know that that is OKAY. Don’t bottle up your emotions – if you need to vent, vent to a trusted source. If you need to cry – cry. Do whatever you need to do in order to feel semi-better.

But whatever, you do, do NOT let these feelings consume you more than an hour. Pity parties shouldn’t be long-term, so, cry, vent, get it out of your system, and then decide what you can do about it.

September Goals 2017

September 1, 2017 – Journal

“I believe in luck and fate and I believe in karma, that the energy you put out into the world comes back to meet you.” – Chris Pine

September is destined for great things. I feel it in my bones.

This may or may not have to do with the fact that Fall begins this month.

Anyway, this month, I want my main focus to be on my confidence and self-esteem. All summer long I have been working on self-love and improving my mindset, so, for the month of September, I want to project that in my everyday life. I am going to be that person who goes after what they want and is willing to take risks. And it will all be worth it.

I also want to give into the feeling of uncertainty, letting go of the past, letting go of my worries for future events, and relax into present moments. I want to be more secure in the unknown.

How to get out of a negative rut + loving yourself | Tips

 August 18, 2017

“Worry about loving yourself instead of loving the idea of other people loving you.” – Anonymous

Ruts are the worst. There’s that feeling of a lingering energy that is telling you can’t accomplish this and that you aren’t deserving of something else. Well, guess what? You can and you are. This is just our own brains tricking us into believing the worst. Only accept the best thoughts to pass through your brain to get out of a rut, and include some love for yourself in there.

My Summer Morning Routine + Workout 2017

August 14, 2017

“The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our light.” – S. Ajna

For most summer mornings, my schedule is very relaxed and balanced as I try not to give myself such a strict schedule as I would during the school year. I allow myself to do what feels right to me in that moment; however, there are a few things of importance that I like to get done before I go into that complete mindset of tranquility.

Camping Adventures

August 11, 2017 – Journal

“And at the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling.”  – Shanti

I always enjoy the adventure that is camping. To be fully absorbed in nature – away from all the chaos and noise. Just at peace.

I spent the last week at an outdoors camp for my school called Elevation. This course is vigorous as it is tranquil. We stay in a canyon for a week, away from our regular lives and disconnected from the world.

To be completely honest, this past week was kind of difficult to get through.

August Goals 2017

August 4, 2017 – Journal

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” – Unknown

Creating monthly goals is such a fantastic thing to journal and focus on each day. The month of August is already shaping up to be very busy, as I have just gotten back from my week-long camping trip, and am starting school next week along with a concert on Thursday.

The Silent Art of Life

July 17, 2017 – Journal

Life sometimes whispers a sweet promise in the ear of  certain victims who run for forever safety

They run instead of acting bravely

Never wondering how long forever will be

And of all the strengths to listen to

The victim chooses to listen to the root of all failures

Hoping to be carefree

New barriers are then set up to eventually limit our potential

The very same ones that destroy our credential of life and the way we live it

Then the time comes to face the facts

The certain reality check we encounter, the certain ringing in our head

Slowly, but surely we give in

Realizing the one chance we had is lost

But instead of regretting and wishing

We should learn and accept the future

For the future of living is in the now and not the never

Life is a beautiful thing

Its beauty exceeds stars, the moon, and every galaxy

Life is an endless journey

Leaving humans and animals to leap in harmony

But only if we choose that path

Will we find forever tranquility

This piece of writing is dedicated to our life as we know it and all of its risks and challenges. I encourage you to take hope from this as it is written for those times when we don’t feel so strong – when we don’t feel brave to continue on into our dreams. Listen to your heart and that passion will soon drive you into success.

Thanks so much for reading and caring.
