My Fall Reading List

Fall is in four days. My favorite season is in four days. Inspiration is at a lovely 1100% right now and I couldn’t be happier. New years, months, weeks, days, and seasons give me such a kickstart because it’s the beginning of something new. Something I’ve never experienced before – and something I never will again.

So, yes! My Fall reading list is officially here and I could not be more excited to share it with you. For this Fall, I wanted all my books to be very mysterious and intriguing as we are entering Halloween season – the time for thrilling adventures. Be pumped for some very fun posts during the duration of fall.

For this upcoming Autumn, I am most excited to reread Harry Potter and finish out the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer. A Madness So Discreet has been in my TBR pile for quite some time now, so I am very pleased to finally be picking it up this Fall. As I mentioned, I truly want to feel the Fall vibes, so I will also be the classic tale of Dracula.

Frustrating times come as they go; some longer than others. I get it. Sometimes we are just feeling low and insecure – other times, things beyond our control just suddenly happen. And as much as we would like to think positively, it doesn’t work.

I’m here to let you know that that is OKAY. Don’t bottle up your emotions – if you need to vent, vent to a trusted source. If you need to cry – cry. Do whatever you need to do in order to feel semi-better.

But whatever, you do, do NOT let these feelings consume you more than an hour. Pity parties shouldn’t be long-term, so, cry, vent, get it out of your system, and then decide what you can do about it.

September Goals 2017

September is destined for great things. I feel it in my bones.

This may or may not have to do with the fact that Fall begins this month.

Anyway, this month, I want my main focus to be on my confidence and self-esteem. All summer long I have been working on self-love and improving my mindset, so, for the month of September, I want to project that in my everyday life. I am going to be that person who goes after what they want and is willing to take risks. And it will all be worth it.

I also want to give into the feeling of uncertainty, letting go of the past, letting go of my worries for future events, and relax into present moments. I want to be more secure in the unknown.

We are lucky to live in a world full of inspiration at the click of our fingertips. It is quite easy to find motivational quotes/people telling us to be the best version of ourselves. However, the real motivation we will ever need is already in us. Of course, I still encourage you to browse the interweb and find other things to get your passion going, but just know that by telling yourself “you can” is more effective than someone else telling you those same exact words.

Our minds are wired to get us through our day and to complete incredible tasks. Unfortunately, they are also the cause of stress – whirling around different ideas at once. These things are a mixture of what we’re going to make for dinner or how we are going to accomplish our goals.

How often do you stop and think about what is going on around you? Take a moment a pause. What do you hear? What do you see? What are you doing? How are you doing it? This practice is so vivid and can make things easier to remember once you address key attributes to the scene around you.

Last Friday, I discussed how to overcome the stages of a rut and some components that follow along with that. This post is a sort of part 2 in which I will share my own tips on how to get back on track with all your goals, and how I, myself, plan my week. The only successful way to get out of a rut is to replace all of your bad habits with good ones… right? Kind of. It is true that all our bad habits can be fixed with the very opposite of them, but actually staying consistent can become a bit of a hassle.

How to get out of a negative rut + loving yourself | Tips

Ruts are the worst. There’s that feeling of a lingering energy that is telling you can’t accomplish this and that you aren’t deserving of something else. Well, guess what? You can and you are. This is just our own brains tricking us into believing the worst. Only accept the best thoughts to pass through your brain to get out of a rut, and include some love for yourself in there.
